This is a common problem which Doctor Goldbaum may evaluate firstly with a weight bearing x-ray of the affected area and a diagnostic ultrasound test to identify soft tissue swelling. Possible oral medications, injections, orthopedic strapping or a number of other tests are available as well as the use of Orthotic inserts to help alleviate the pain associated with this condition.
urgery for this condition, if necessary, is minimally invasive and uses only a small incision. It is a newer procedure which Dr Goldbum is certified to perform called the Extra Corpsular Shockwave Technology. This technology utilizes a sound wave focal point to break up inflammation and relieve the pain cycle associated with Plantar Fasciitis. No incision or sutures are required for this treatment.
